Ajay Pandey took over as MD of Neotel (Pty) Ltd in December 2005. He performs the dual role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to this, he was with Tata Communications in India as President of the project for the company's telecoms initiative in South Africa. He has over two decades of work experience, with one of the decades being dedicated to the telecoms industry.

Pandey has held several senior level positions such as President of Tata Indicom Enterprise Business Unit (TIEBU), which he set up in early 2003, and CEO of Tata Internet Services Limited. He is now a Board Member of this company. Prior to this he was the COO for Tata Group’s first company to set up the Basic Telephone Circle. Prior to joining the telecoms industry, he was part of the office automation industry and consumer durable industry in India.

When he joined Neotel in September 2007, Mattiello was responsible for the sales division for both business and wholesale, to coincide with the launch of the Enterprise business in November 2007. In 2008, he took on the role of Executive Head: Enterprise Business Unit and in 2009, he assumed a bigger responsibility of sales and customer service for all areas of business, i.e. Enterprise, Wholesale and Consumer.

With over 26 years experience in the ICT industry, Mattiello has worked for various South African and global organisations including Motorola, where he headed up their Networks business for Sub Sahara Africa for four years. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Sun Microsystems for Sub Saharan Africa. His experience ranges from working in small organisations to managing regional offices for large multi-national companies.

Humphries joined Neotel in 2009. She brings with her a wealth of experience from her previous roles across emerging markets including strategic planning and related go-to-market executions.

Before joining Neotel, she was the Head of Marketing for Nakheel, the largest development company in the world, responsible for projects such as The World, The Universe and the highly acclaimed ‘The Palms’ in Dubai.

Humphries also held the position of Head of Marketing Strategy, Planning and Operations for Motorola in South East Asia, Middle East, India, Europe and Africa, and was responsible for the phenomenal growth of the Motorola brand over many emerging markets including Africa.

Theko, an admitted Advocate joined Neotel from Eskom where he was Executive Assistant to the Managing Director for the Enterprise Division and also headed the Business and Executive Support Department of the Enterprises Division at Eskom Holdings Limited, where he was responsible for the following departments Secretariat, Legal, Business Planning and Strategy, Communication and Stakeholders Management and CSDP/ASGISA.

Prior to this he worked as a Corporate Legal Consultant at Eskom Holdings Limited and Counsel to the Board of Directors of Eskom Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.

Cohen joined Neotel from ICASA, where she was a Councillor from July 2004 until June 2008. At ICASA, she was assigned a portfolio that entailed specific projects on market access and competition, including interconnection, facilities leasing and developing the competition framework required by the Electronic Communications Act.

Her previous positions include teaching posts at Wits University in Johannesburg and research posts at Columbia University in New York City; the University of Toronto and the London School of Economics. She has worked as a regulatory consultant for domestic and international organizations including the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation (CTO).

He has also worked for Premier where he held the position of Regional Human Resources Manager for Gauteng within the Bakeries Division (Blue Ribbon Bakeries).
