Kennedy Memani


Kennedy is a Chartered Accountant by profession (SAICA). He completed his degree at the University of Bophuthatswana (North West University) and proceeded to the University of Cape Town for his Post Graduate in Accounting and qualified as a Chartered accountant in 1991. Kennedy also holds several Professional Qualifications.

Kennedy has extensive experience in major acquisitions and Corporate Restructurings. He served the late Minister of Public Enterprises Ms Stella Sigcau as a Special Advisor and was part of the team that produced the framework for the Restructuring of State Assets. He led various restructuring processes of state assets including, South African Airways, Eskom, Aventure Resorts, Transnet, IDC, SARS Siyakha project.  He has served on the Boards of SABC and Super Sport and is the former Chairman of the Eskom Pension Fund.

Kennedy is one of the Founders and the current Director in charge of Neotel. Additionally, he is the Chairman of Nexus Connexion (SA), the local partner of Neotel. 


Abid Qadiri

Chief Sales Officer

Abid joined Neotel as its Chief of Business Solutions and Excellence, in April 2012. Prior to joining Neotel, Abid was Vice President for Business Excellence at Tata Communications focused on business process improvement. Abid joined Tata Communications in 2005 responsible for leading product management in Global Managed Solutions for various product lines with a specific focus on Managing Hosting and DC Services product portfolio. Prior to Tata Communications he was Head of Professional Services Practice for Orange Business Services in North America.

Abid brings more than 20 years of ICT industry experience in a global environment. He has worked in various leadership roles in product management, business and partner development, sales support and professional services, in markets across Asia Pacific, India, Middle East, Africa, North America and Europe for communications services providers such as Equant/Orange Business Services, Global One and Sprint.

Abid holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering (electronics and communications) from the National Institute of Technology in India. He has participated in various executive leadership and management programmes.


Imran Abbas

Chief Networks and Customer Services Officer

Imran serves as Chief Networks and Customer Services Officer and is part of Neotel’s Executive Committee.

Before joining Neotel, he was employed with Plessey as an Engineering Manager and later as an Operations Executive.  For this role he was responsible for the network rollout of three cell operators in South Africa and Africa, from GSM infrastructure to Wireless and Microwave backbones.

Imran is a visionary who has contributed to the long-term sustainable growth of Neotel by creating and implementing value adding business and telecommunications strategies aligned to the company's objectives.

Imran is no stranger to hard work and has attributed his success to his PhD studies in Management in Technology and Innovation. His formal qualifications include an Executive Development Program through the Ross School of Business, M-Tech Program in Management (MBA equivalent), Bachelor’s Degree in Management, National Higher Diploma in Project Management, and an accreditation in Electrical Engineering.


Calvin Theko

Company Secretary

Calvin, an admitted advocate joined Neotel from Eskom where he was Executive Assistant to the Managing Director for the Enterprise Division and also headed the Business and Executive Support Department of the Enterprises Division at Eskom Holdings Limited. There he was responsible for the following departments:

  • Secretariat
  • Legal
  • Business Planning and Strategy
  • Communication and Stakeholders Management

Prior to this, he worked as a Corporate Legal Consultant at Eskom Holdings Limited and Counsel to the Board of Directors of Eskom Enterprises (Pty) Ltd.
